FAQs

Who is eligible?
Any woman aged 16-30 who lives in the UK is eligible for the Apprentice Award and the Trailblazer Award.

For the Everyday SHEro Award and the Influencer Award, young women must have engaged with our Participation work or used our Work it Out service. This includes past and present YWT Advisory Panel members, YWT Lounge members, Work it Out Ambassadors and young women who have used our Coaching or CV feedback services.

Who can nominate?
Anyone!

Can I nominate myself?
Of course you can!

But I haven’t made any extraordinary achievements
We think you have, and this is exactly why we want to hear from you. It doesn't matter how small you think your achievement was, this doesn’t mean it wasn’t extraordinary.

Can I be nominated if I have not used the Young Women's Trust services or participated in the charity's work?
Yes, you can be nominated for the Apprentice Award or the Trailblazer Award.

Can I nominate this person or myself for more than one award?
We want to hear from as many young women as possible, so please only nominate this person or yourself for one award.

What happens if I get nominated for more than one award?
Don’t worry, if this happens we will get in touch and ask which you would prefer to be considered for.

Who will read my nomination?
Only three staff members at Young Women's Trust, and then if you are shortlisted the nomination will go to a panel of young women who use our service already and a guest judge. Your personal information (email, phone number etc.) will not be shared publicly, but we will want to share your story if you are a winner.

OK great, how do I nominate?
To nominate yourself or someone else, just click on the button that corresponds to the award you are nominating for on the nominations page.

What happens now?
Nominations will be open until January 1st 2019 at 11:59pm. Any nominations made after this point will unfortunately not be counted. Then we will get in our panel of young women and a special guest judge. You will be informed of the outcome at the end of January.

If you win an award you will be invited to our awards ceremony, along with a guest of your choice, which will take place in central London on the evening of Tuesday 26th February 2019 to accept your award on stage.

What would I win?
Winners will be awarded with £500 to spend as they please and an engraved award.

My question wasn't answered here!
