FAQs about the Workshop Series
Frequently asked questions
The Workshop Series is a free online programme made up of three weekly workshops, designed to help you connect with other young women who are in a similar work situation.
We currently run three Workshop Series programmes:
- Finding Work
- Making a Change at Work
- Navigating Work as Women of Colour
Our Workshop Series is free and available for women aged 18 to 30 living in England and Wales. We welcome all young women, including trans young women, and non-binary people who feel comfortable using our services.
We encourage those who face the biggest challenges with money, jobs, and unpaid work to sign up. This includes working-class women, racially marginalised young women, and disabled young women.
You’ll be joining a friendly group of around 40 young women. Each programme is supported by the same host, who will guide you through the workshops and activities.
Throughout the workshops, you’ll watch videos, hear from inspiring speakers, and take part in breakout discussions with other young women.
You can sign up to the Workshop Series here. The sign-up form should take around 5 minutes.
That’s okay — we’ll always go at your pace. You’ll never be asked to speak in front of a big group if you’re not comfortable.
If you’d prefer not to talk, you’re very welcome to join in using the Zoom chat or take part in the smaller breakout discussions whenever it feels right for you.
We’d really love for you to have your camera on, as it helps create a warm and welcoming space. But don’t worry if that’s not possible — join in however feels most comfortable for you.
We don’t record the workshops, but we will send out a copy of the slides, notes and links to any videos which you can look over in your own time.
We recommend that you join the workshops on a laptop rather than a phone if you can. It would be good to have a way to take notes as well.
We do recommend attending all three workshops, as this helps you get the most out of the programme. But we understand that life can get busy and things can come up unexpectedly. If you’re not able to attend a workshop, just let us know by emailing [email protected].
You’ll receive a follow-up email after each workshop so you can catch up on what you missed and stay on track. Even if you miss a session, you can come back to the next workshop.
Young Women’s Trust staff are at every workshop to support you with any practical or welfare questions. You can also email [email protected] after the workshop.
If you have any questions which aren’t answered here, you can get in touch with us at [email protected].
