How we do digital transformation at Young Women’s Trust

By Sarah, Young Women's Trust • 9 July 2019

Hi there. My name is Sarah. I’m new here.

I joined the Young Women’s Trust in June and my job title is Digital Transformation Lead. I like cats, stationery and the dinosaurs in Crystal Palace Park.

What does digital transformation mean?

I’m glad you asked.

My job is to make sure that the Young Women’s Trust are using digital tools (like social media, YouTube and our website) in the best possible way to support young women, spread the word about our campaigns for change and reach people who want to get involved.

When I started my job, the first thing I did was talk to some young women about what they thought about our website. They liked the look and feel of the site, but, as one person said ‘it’s all kind of a bit jumbled’.

So, there’s my first mission. I’ll be working to make the website simpler and easier for everyone to use. I want to make sure it clearly communicates the awesome work the team at the Young Women’s Trust do and the voices of the young women we support.

I’d like to get involved

Great! Young women are at the heart of what we do and in the coming months I’ll be looking for workshop participants, usability testers and contributors.

To start with, if you have any thoughts or suggestions about our website, you can pop them in our virtual suggestion box.

You can do it anonymously if you like and it takes less than 2 minutes to send us your ideas.

How can I find out more?

I’ll be posting a blog around every 6 weeks about our digital transformation journey. I’ll be writing about how we are collaborating with young women on the project and our progress on refreshing our website.

Follow along on Instagram and Twitter to find out when new blogs are published and what we’ve been up to at Young Women’s Trust.
