Noisy Women Karaoke
Planning your Noisy Women Karaoke Night...
Belt out some tunes to help give young women a voice!
It can be as big or small as you like. Host it at home, rent out a hall, head to your local pub or karaoke bar. Or if you like to embarrass yourself in relative privacy, rent out a karaoke booth.
If you're taking the DIY approach, you can buy a karaoke machine for as little as £35. If you're hosting at home, try YouTube or Spotify for playlists. Spotify has a 'Girl Power Karaoke' playlist with all the usual suspects. There are also plenty of Karaoke apps.
You can raise money to support young women and help end gender inequality! You could ask for donations, sell tickets, or event ask your friends to bid on songs - e.g. if you raise £40 Tia will sing Britney Spears in the style of Pavarotti.
If you don't want to end up out-of-pocket, make sure you tot up all your expenses, divide them by the number of guests and add on a donation to the ticket price.
Use your own contacts - your friends, family, school, uni class, sports team... It's easiest to stick to people you already know than trying to sell tickets to the general public.
Go on. Be a little bit extra. Download and print our selfie props and microphone box and don't forget to share your photos with us on Instagram @YoungWomensTrust.
